ASCA has five membership categories:


Licensed cheesemaking businesses that make cheese on a commercial basis. Does not include home cheesemakers.

Cheesemaking businesses not yet licensed, or in their first year of commercial production. Does not include home cheesemakers.

Businesses associated with the cheesemaking industry, which do not actually make cheese (for example: distributors, retailers, regulators, educational institutions, suppliers, other dairy producers such as butter, milk, yoghurt). Does not include licensed cheesemaking businesses.

Individuals associated with the cheesemaking industry in a professional capacity (for example: cheese judges, consultants, educators, staff of retailers or distributors, employees of cheesemaking businesses, chefs).Does not include businesses or organisations.

Note:  All ASCA membership fees are payable in advance for the year. You can join anytime.  We work on a calendar year (January - December):

  • Full year membership rates – join anytime between Jan 1st - May 31st and pay full year membership rate for membership until Dec 31st.

  • Part year membership rates – join anytime between June 1st - December 31st and pay half yearly rates for membership until Dec 31st.
