Advice warning on iodine-based teat dips from the ADPF

28 February 2016

The following letter was recently sent to ASCA from the Australian Dairy Products Federation (ADPF), of which ASCA is a member.

Advice warning regarding NPE's in iodine-based teat dips and other iodine based products used in the dairy

Dear Members

Please find attached an information sheet on Nonyl-phenol Ethoxylate (NPE) residues in farm milk. The need to take a firmer line on the use of iodine-based teat sprays containing NPEs, relates to export markets stepping up their requirements for nil residues.  Please share this with your suppliers or use it as a basis for your company communications.

If you have any queries please contact me or Stewart Davey at Dairy Australia.

Kind regards

Peter
